Mentorship

The Retention & Recruitment Committee developed this page to provide our members with the opportunity to find a school psychologist who will be a good fit as a mentor. It will also provide an opportunity for skilled school psychologists to support our profession by mentoring others. You will fill out the Mentor or Mentee form, depending upon your interest. This will then populate into a section for you to find a person who might be a good fit for you. WSASP recommends, and it is best practice, that you have a mentor assigned to you within your own district, as each district has unique characteristics. However, if your district does not provide a mentor, you will have the opportunity to access colleagues who have similar interests. School psychologists who have moved into our state, changed districts, and are new to the profession are welcome to fill out a form. Only new school psychologists who want to maintain their NCSP certificate will need to fill out the NASP Mentor paperwork.

Please note that this is the mentee’s responsibility and not the mentor’s responsibility. Due to privacy concerns, WSASP Retention & Recruitment Co-Chairs will connect individuals based on area of interests, regions, and grade level. Also, we need mentors! Please consider signing up to support our peers. More information on helping to attract and retain school psychologists will be added to the WSASP website, with more information coming in the PWN and the SCOPE.
